RURAL LANDSCAPE

A rural landscape is a  type of landscape that combines biotic (living), abiotic (non-living) and anthropic elements.
This landscape is biotic, but also abiotic because the mountains.

In the first place, I think this landscape is located in the North of Spain, because this type of landscapes are found in the Cantabrian Range, the Central System and the Iberian System . I think this landscape is from Galicia or Asturias, because is a very typical landscape from there: a beautiful green landscape.

Talking about the relieve, it´s a mountain landscape with a valley.
After that, from my point of view is an alpine climate, because the snow mountains, so the precipitations are going to be abundant, and some of them in the form of snow. The distribution  indicates which is the dry and the rainy season, because of the type of climate it may be regular.
On the other hand, temperatures would be low (<10ºC), summers will be cool and winters will be cold.<10 alpne="" and="" be="" climates="" cold="" considering="" could="" other="" p="" summers.="" summers="" warm="" winters="">
In addition there is a lot of vegetation, because the abundant precipitations, in fact, we can see in the image that there is a lot of green. Mountain vegetation is arranged in levels because temperatures and rainfall vary according to altitude.

Furthermore, the plots are public, is an open field of medium-sized. It´s a extensive farming, from my point of view is monoculture and the technology that they use, I think is modern-mechanized. They are irrigated crops.

In addition, there are cultivated crops or Mediterranean forests at the foot of the mountains. Next up is deciduous forest and above this there are sometimes conifer forests. Shrubland and mountain meadows appear after 1600 metres. The highest peaks have no vegetation.

Regarding into the settlements, it´s a dispersed settlement, I cannot say nothing about the streets because there is only a path that goes around the village.
The traditional house has the roof made of stone, it can also be of slate; the slate is a good material for the roofs of this landscapes because when it snows, the snow slides from the slate, and doesn´t stay at the roof. The rest of the house is made of stone, which is very resistant, with the interior of wood, because it makes the temperature of the house hotter.
It usually has a chimney or a fireplace for the cold days and a place to keep the wood.

Apart from this the land can have other uses, for example for livestock racing, in this areas is very typical the extensive cattle, sheep farming and some nomadic sheep farming.

It´s also used as second residence for summers and holidays, and like "rural house" for another people to go there.

Finally, the lack of infrastructures like roads and communication systems, it´s difficult to acess to this places or there are very bad roads or even illegal paths, so we can propuse reforming this roads and do new ones better.
Also the acess to basic services like healthcare and education, in some of this places there is only a school for all the villages and not always has all the levels, for example baccalaureate. Because of that a lot of students left their studies because thay can´t permit going to a city and rent a flat, or other things. Going to another villages also involve taking a car or bus, and going back to the road topic, it can also be another problem.
The lack of a health centre, it´s another problem, putting the example, of a person who is having a heart attack, if there isn´t any type of medical aid, the person could die in the displacament.
More inconveniences are, the lack of resources like, the water or the light. In some villages there isn´t enough electricity towers or other sources like windmills for all the villages of the zone and some of them have a lot power failures. Talking about the water there aren´t enough treatments plants, or in some periods of the year, if it doesn´t rain they have a lot of droughts, this problem can be also in the cities, but is more difficult to carry water to the villages.

And to conclude I´m going to talk about the depopulation in rural areas. The young people from the villages go to the big cities to study a career, and when they finish, they stay in that city or they go to another country, so in the villages only stay the old people. When the young people left, the population of the village dicrease a lot, so when the old people die it dicrease much more, this happens a lot and it´s a big problem. To resolve it: we should offer good jobs in some villages, build modern houses for young families to live there, promote inn job, design a plan to create a service network for elderly people, create schools for the children, improve and foster the school transport and support livestock, forestry, agricultural, enviromental, food sector and hostelry enterprise in the rural zones.
