CLIMATE GRAPHS:
A climate graph is the graphic representation of the temperatures and precipitations of a place over the course of a year. The temperatures are represented with a red line, while precipitations are shown with vertical blue bars.
I am going to talk about the precipitations. In the first place the total rainfall year in progress, is scarce, so it can be coastal or inland climate, but in this case is inland.
Its distribution is as follows: there are four dry months; June,July,August and September, the precipitations are concentrated in winter and any month of spring. Considering the temperatures in winter most of the precipitations will be in the form of rain.
Looking further into the temperatures, they are cool (12,3ºC). Regarding the temperature range we established that this place is inland, because the temperatures are above 16ºC (18ºC).
Observing the summer, the temperatures are hot, because July has a temperature of 22ºC. Winters are cold because the coldest month has 4ºC. Taking notice the Martonne Index is a semi-arid climate because is between 10-20ºC.
For those reasons we can conclude that is a Mediterranen Climate (inland) located in the Northern Plateau.
In this place, the rivers are long. Their source are far from their mouth (Atlantic) and they receive water from numerous tributaries. They usually have a high volume but suffer significant droughts in summer.
Refering to the climate is Continental Mediterranean, with dry and hot summers and cold winters. Rain is scarce and the relief isolates the interior from the influence of Maritime winds. The vegetation has to be able to withstand harsh winters. The inland area is spasely.
Observing the rural population, is concentrated in small and medium-sized villages. Rural areas have become depopulated over the last few decades and there is now an ageing population. Tourism has revitalized some of these areas recently.
The agriculture is highly mechanized and includes wheat and barley cultivation for both food and livestock feed, there are also irrigated horticulture and fruit farms near rivers. Refering to the livestock, the main type is sheep, industrial farming is found near urban areas. Silviculture, there are not many forests due to low rainfall.
Talking about the agriculture structure, in areas of rainfed agriculture, farms are large, mechanised and use of extensive farming methods, in irrigated areas farms are medium-sized.
The settlements are scarce and concentrated in small rural settlements and cities.
- Review the description of rainfall distribution (irregular).
ResponderEliminar- Separate paragraphs and introduce them properly.
- "the total rainfall year in progress, is scarce, so it can be coastal or inland climate, but in this case is inland." Be careful with expressions like this. It is confusing and it doesn't contribute to the analysis. You can just say that the precipitations are scarce and irregular and use that to justify later that Zamora's climate is Mediterranean Inland.
- You have not mentioned the temperature range which is essential to determine if the place is located inland or on the coast.
- The inland area is spasely---> review. Doesn't make any sense.
